Linda Howard Weissman

linda-howard-weismannFor the past sixteen years Linda Howard Weissman has been the Assistant Dean for Institutional Advancement at Touro Law Center. At Touro Law she heads a staff of six individuals who are responsible for annual fund, corporate, foundation and government relations, special events, alumni relations and marketing and public relations.

Before working at Touro, she served as the Executive Director of The Five Towns Community Chest. From 1983 to 1989 she served as Director of Development of Family Service Association of Nassau County (now Family and Children Services). Earlier in her career Linda worked as a free-lance writer with articles published in the New York Times, Newsday and several magazines.

A former Registered Nurse and a graduate of SUNY's Empire State College, Linda is a founding member and former President of the Long Island AFP Chapter. She has chaired the organization's Annual Philanthropy Day and was a prior recipient of the Chapter's Outstanding Fund Raiser of the Year Award. Linda serves on the Resource Council of The Long Island Fund for Women and Girls and was the original co-chair of that organization's "Women Against the Odds" Breakfast. She has also served on the committee for ERASE Racism's annual fund raising event – "A Common Thread: Celebrating People of the African Diaspora" and is a member of ERASM Racism's Advisory Board.

She is a 2008 and 2010 recipient of Long Island Business News Award "The Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business" and a 2007 recipient of "The Woman of the Year Award" from the Suffolk County Community Council.
