To aid ERASE Racism in its education and training efforts, this RFP seeks to identify qualified contractors to produce a film (DVD and VHS video) of no more than one hour in length that will be a companion to ERASE Racism's Race and Racism Dialogues. The film will be used by staff in conjunction with forums, conferences and training activities. When combined with teaching tools it will also be supplied by ERASE Racism to other organizations for their use in local discussions, e.g. for religious institutions; civic, health and human service organizations; government agencies and legislative bodies; high schools and universities; businesses, etc. The RFP also discusses the potential for a qualified consultant to assist ERASE Racism with other media projects, such as website videos.

9/12/07 - Three proposals have been received and are currently  under review.  It is not too late to submit a proposal.  Only submissions that contain a proposal and work samples will be considered for review.

9/13/07 - Clarification for Section 5 of RFP.  The sentence at the end of paragraph 2 in Section 5 of the RFP section:  "the respondent should not address the substance of their qualification in this area in the proposal submission..." refers to the immediate sentence before concerning assisting in the production of teaching tools.  If you have expertise in producing teaching materials and are interested in talking with us about that, please make a note in your proposal, but do not spend time now telling us about your expertise in producing teaching materials. 

Clarification about respondent budget.  Concerning the budget, we intentionally did not ask for a budget at this time because we anticipate that the responses will be very different.  A more useful budget discussion will result from a conversation and negotiation with the contractors about specifics.  Some submissions do contain general information about pricing structures, which is helpful but not required. 

Clarification about ERASE Racism's funds available for this project.  At present, if the film costs are less than $50,000 we can complete that portion of the project without further fundraising.  The production of the film will be delayed if costs are higher.  ERASE Racism has not undertaken a project like this previously, and we will use what we learn about costs from the respondents to this RFP to focus our continued fundraising efforts to support ongoing media related projects.

10/15/07 - Five proposals were received and interviews were conducted.  We are currently finalizing a contract and will post the details when it is finalized.

11/1/07 - We received five excellent proposals and have selected David Van Taylor of Lumiere Productions to produce our film. We thank everyone who submitted a proposal in response to our RFP.
