ERASE Racism, a five-year old, regional research and policy advocacy organization, is seeking a Health Policy Intern or Part Time Consultant. This individual will produce a policy report that will help ERASE Racism prioritize potential advocacy campaigns and intervention strategies to address healthcare disparities and promote racial equity in healthcare on Long Island . This report will identify those strategies that are most appropriate for ERASE Racism, a policy advocacy organization that is not a provider of healthcare services. ERASE Racism has initiated a preliminary review of selected federal, state and Long Island agencies, laws, policies, and initiatives relevant to the topic of addressing racial disparities in healthcare.
Candidates must have experience in research and policy analysis and have specific expertise in health policy. In addition the ideal candidate will be familiar with the topic of institutional and structural racism, US civil rights or social justice advocacy. A graduate degree or similar credential and experience pertinent to this position is required. After the completion of the report a decision will be made about ongoing staffing needs to implement the advocacy campaign.
