The Housing Project analyzes the practices and policies of both public and private institutions whose work affects fair housing and it advocates for changes that promote racial equity.
The Housing Project:

The Housing Project analyzes Federal, State and local government practices and policies concerning: community development; fair housing laws and enforcement; housing grant awards by government; and zoning. Based on the findings, recommendations are issued by ERASE Racism and strategies are developed to achieve implementation. The Housing Project similarly tracks and investigates policies and practices in the private real estate industry that create racial inequity in access to housing. After identifying problems, ERASE Racism works with real estate firms, agents and associations to develop tools to prevent race discrimination in housing and assure that fair housing laws are abided by. The Housing Project regularly collaborates with other civil rights experts and organizations that focus on housing to bring about change. ERASE Racism publishes in depth reports on housing issues, holds press conferences and ensures that race and housing remain within the public discourse.
