Laura Harding, Esq., is President of ERASE Racism, the regional civil rights organization based on Long Island that exposes and addresses the devastating impact of historical and ongoing structural racism, particularly in housing and public school education. It does so through research, policy advocacy, legal action, and educating and mobilizing the public – driving policy change at local, regional and statewide levels and through national coalitions. It has been recognized locally and nationally for its cutting-edge work.

Sherley Cherenfant, M.S., Controller/Operations ManagerMs. Cherenfant joined ERASE Racism with 16 years of accounting experience comprising positions in both for-profit and not-for-profit settings. In 1993 she received a B.B.A., in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. While pursuing her accounting career, Ms. Cherenfant attended The City University of New York where she received her M.S. in Communication Management in 1999. Prior to joining the ERASE Racism staff Sherley was the business manager for a not-for-profit organization on Long Island where she oversaw and managed funds of over 20 million dollars. Olivia Ildefonso, PhD, Research ConsultantOlivia Ildefonso, Ph.D. is an activist and geographer whose work focuses on the intersection between schooling in America and questions of national hegemony. She is also a GIS professor and practitioner. She is the co-founder of North Arrow, a consultancy specializing in impact mapping for nonprofits and other changemakers. She is also the Chair of the Board of Directors for S.T.R.O.N.G. Youth, a youth, family and community development organization specializing in youth, gang, and gun violence prevention and intervention.
Ian Lesnick, M.Ed., Program CoordinatorIan Lesnick (he/him) is a Long Island public school teacher who recognizes the many systemic challenges that face our education system. He is certified to teach Spanish and English as a New Language (K-12) and has a Master’s degree from Stony Brook University in Teaching Spanish. Most recently, he completed a Master’s Program through Columbia College, obtaining an M.Ed. in Trauma-Informed Education. Camille Young, DEI Training Coordinator ConsultantCamille Young is the Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Training Coordinator Consultant for ERASE Racism, the New York-based civil rights organization. In that capacity, she offers tailored diversity and equity training to a broad range of organizations in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. Camille has extraordinary experience in the field, having conducted diversity training in all three sectors. Camille's experience began as a high school student, where she participated in a program that gave students a deep understanding of the history of race and racism in America and training on facilitating conversations with peers and community members. |
