If your ideal night of fun involves great music, delicious hors d’oeuvres, and inspirational conversation that nourishes the activist within, then ERASE Racism’s Partnership for Racial Equity Meet and Greet Social was a dream come true.
Veteran Partners who have been with ERASE Racism since its inception networked with newcomers looking for a way to use their skills and expertise to support racial equity on Long Island.
One of the first arrivals were Kelly Abernethy and Fred Dickinson, a couple who have been advocating for equity for over a decade in Maine. Although they are still in the process of moving to Long Island they planned one of their visits to Long Island to coincide with the Partner gathering on April 19th in Huntington and they were glad they did. Kelly and Fred are avid supporters of integration in public school education and look forward to continuing that work in Long Island. We warmly welcome them and their children.
Ceida Allen, Vice President of the Black Student Union at Farmingdale University, discussed how her student-led organization uses open dialogue to tackle racial equity on campus. Social butterfly Eugenia Woods was the life of the party, finding a way to add humor to her challenging experience of finding affordable housing on Long Island.
We are ERASE Racism partners. We are educators, entrepreneurs, students, parents, tenants, and community advocates. We learn and have fun.
You can too. Join the Partnership for Racial Equity and connect with people who share similar values as you. Together, we will create the change we wish to see on Long Island.
If you missed our Partnership for Racial Equity Meet and Greet Social, don't fret. Sign up here to stay up-to-date with ERASE Racism news, updates, and events.
