SUFFOLK COUNTY! Are you ready to connect, speak out, and lead change in your community? Join us at the Long Island Leaders of Tomorrow Conference, hosted by ERASE Racism and Eastern Suffolk BOCES!

We are inviting high school students from Suffolk County school districts to the annual Long Island Leaders of Tomorrow Conference, a student-led conference which draws over 200 students from diverse districts. Here is an article from an alumni of our program detailing her experience with ERASE Racism’s programming, and some News 12 coverage of our 2025 conference.

This is a student-led, action-packed day where you’ll:

• Meet students from across Long Island’s varied districts
• Build real plans to make change in your district
• Learn about racial equity and challenges facing our schools and communities

This conference aligns with two NYSED Initiatives:

1. This conference also aligns with NYSED's Portrait of a Graduate, a "a state-adopted, shared vision defining the essential skills and dispositions all New York students should possess upon graduation to thrive in college, careers, and civic life."
2. Additionally, students can earn hours towards earning the NYS Seal of Civic Readiness, "a formal diploma distinction recognizing high school students who demonstrate proficiency in civic knowledge, skills, actions, and mindsets." The activities participating students complete during the conference will prepare them to eventually complete the Civic Readiness Capstone project, a necessary component of the NYS Seal of Civic Readiness. They will have already started on steps 1-3 of the 5 steps towards this prestigious achievement!
